This Good Friday was spent with the family at Bobo’s Brasserie, Mouille Point.

The 60s & 70s style décor with contemporary finishes.

I cannot believe that this venue was once Pepénero and now has been transformed into a fresh and jazzy restaurant with a cosy lounge & bar.

The décor is a mixture of the 60s (think large print wallpaper) and 70s (including crush velvet furniture) with contemporary finishes complimenting the open-style kitchen. This restaurant is warm and welcoming from the go!

The food is French-bistro style with a few twists to keep things interesting. Their cocktail menu and wine list are quite extensive and feature some interesting drinks. I started with the Spiced Pear Bellini which was heavenly.

For mains I enjoyed the Duck Leg Confit and paired it with Nederburg’s The Young Airhawk Sauvignon Blanc (my go-to favourite) whilst my partner enjoyed the Bouillabaisse (filled to the brim with excellently cooked seafood).

Bouillabaisse with fennel, celery, garlic, white mussels, clams, prawns, white fish, rouille & sour dough.

To end off… my mother and I couldn’t resist trying the beignets. This beautiful, light and fluffy dessert made my day. I will be returning just for those delicious bites!

Thankfully the family chose a great spot for our Good Friday celebrations. I look forward to trying more of their desserts!
